The Tuckoo app
Data stored on your device
Favorites, saved mixes, settings and session history are stored only on your iPhone. They are not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.
Apple Health
If you allow it, Tuckoo reads sleep data from Apple Health to show your sleep history. Tuckoo only reads; it does not write to Apple Health. This data is processed on your iPhone, never leaves it, and is never used for advertising. You can withdraw access at any time in the Health app.
Microphone (own voice)
If you record your own voice for a loop (for example a shush or humming), Tuckoo uses the microphone only while you record. Tuckoo asks for microphone access the first time you tap record, not earlier. The recording is turned into a loop on your iPhone and stored only there. It is never uploaded, is excluded from iCloud and device backups, and is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time in the app, and deleting the app deletes it. You can withdraw microphone access at any time in Settings.
Apple Watch and motion sensors
If you use the sleep sensing features, heart rate and movement from your Apple Watch, or motion from your iPhone, are processed on your devices to estimate whether you are awake or asleep. This is an estimate, not a medical measurement. The data stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch and is not sent to us.
Downloading sounds
Additional sound packs are downloaded from Apple's servers (Apple-hosted Background Assets). To deliver them, Apple processes technical data such as your IP address. We do not receive this data. See Apple's privacy policy.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple gives us anonymous sales reports.
Crash reports and diagnostics
If you have turned on Share With App Developers in your iPhone settings, Apple shares crash reports and performance statistics with us in anonymous form. You can turn this off at any time under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements. Tuckoo also keeps a small battery log on your device for troubleshooting; it only leaves your iPhone if you choose to export and send it to us.
Children
Tuckoo includes sounds for babies, used by parents and caregivers. The app does not collect data from anyone, including children.
This website
tuckoo.app is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., USA. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
The website uses no cookies, no analytics, no tracking and no external fonts or scripts.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them when they are no longer needed. Email to tuckoo.app addresses is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing (Cloudflare, Inc., USA, certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework).
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Because the app does not collect personal data, most requests will concern emails you sent us. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one responsible for us: the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW), ldi.nrw.de.
Changes
If Tuckoo ever starts handling data differently, we will update this policy before the change, and the app's privacy label in the App Store will say so too.
